Monday's Moments

Monday’s Moments…

Isaiah reminds us… “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

That verse is a promise from God and applies to us today… spiritually, physically and emotionally God is able.  As we step into a New Year, we may not know what the future holds, but we do know who holds the future!  Join us in worship as we continue this theme with a sermon series entitled:  “New Year ~ No Fear”, Sunday’s at 11:00am – Invite a friend to join you as we worship and adore the Lord together!

Your FBC end-of year giving statements are available in our church office for your tax benefit and records.  Thanks for your faithful giving this past year, and we’ll look forward to how the Lord will continue to bless and benefit us this coming year, together.

This Wednesday our fellowship meal and activities start up again for the new year...  Dinner begins at 5:15pm.  Please sign up or call the church office to get on the reservation list.

Speaking of dinner, this coming Sunday… Sandy’s Restaurant in Blue Springs is staying open to offer FBC a special brunch/lunch buffet just for us, from 12:30 – 2:00PM.  We will have details on cost and food items being served this Wednesday at church.

Sunday Sermon Quote: “God works best through our uncertainties… from a surprise pregnancy of a young girl in Nazareth, to an unjust murder in Jerusalem… our fears are the tools that God often builds into faith.”

Follow Up: Fears can be the results of unchecked worry and stress.  The world offers little help, but often tries - here is someone’s idea of managing fear/stress with a special diet:

Breakfast – ½ grapefruit, 1 piece of whole-wheat toast, and 8oz. skim milk.

Lunch – 4oz. lean chicken breast (broiled), 1 cup steamed broccoli, 1 Oreo cookie, and hot herbal tea.

Mid-afternoon Snack – Rest of the package of Oreo’s, 1 qt. Rocky Road Ice Cream.

Dinner – A loaf of garlic bread, large Pizza with everything, pitcher of Root Beer, 3 packages of Reese’s P.B. Cups, and entire frozen Cheesecake, eaten directly from the freezer.  J
