Monday's Moments

Monday’s Moments…

“May The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.”  Numbers 6:24-26

Often we may pray for each other, but how often do we “bless” others in the Lord?

When we bless others, we are asking for God’s divine favor to rest upon them.  Blessing someone offers encouragement to them, but also invites them to consider God’s watch-care over them.  This Thanksgiving season, as we count our blessings, let’s also be sure to “bless” those the Lord has put in our lives, and be thankful for them as well.

This past Sunday we gladly welcomed Jason & Mary Webb as they came forward dedicating their life to the Lord, along with Lorene Smith who also came to join our FBC family… what a blessing it is to have these folks join us as we do life together.  This coming Sunday we will observe both The Lord’s Supper and Baptism as we usher in the Holiday season with a special worship service of remembrance & thanksgiving for all that God has done, and is doing.  I hope you’ll join us this Sunday at FBC… a place to call Home!

Yesterday we dedicated over 140 Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.  Thank you for giving to this project and having the compassion to make a difference in a child’s life.  If you didn’t get a chance to do a shoebox, you can still go online and adopt a shoebox or pack a shoebox by clicking here: https://samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/buildonline

Finally, be sure to sign up and join us for our annual FBC Holiday Dinner on Wednesday, December 3rd at 5:15pm.  That same evening our WMU will be presenting a “Christmas Mission Moment” with a report of our own local food pantry and how they help and minister to so many within our community.  This will be a church-wide event with our children and youth joining us to hear this presentation.  We are asking each person to bring a canned food item or two as a “gift” that evening to be donated to our local food pantry, as well as your appreciated meal donation $$.  Again, be sure to sign up at the information table if you are planning on joining us for dinner so we can make sure we have enough for everyone!  Items most needed are: Chicken Noodle Soup, Cream of Mushroom Soup, Port & Bean’s, Chili or Kidney Beans, or canned fruit.
